When it comes to posting on your business’ social media accounts, do you struggle to find good, relevant content to post and share? At Visual Inspiration, we know the importance of keeping up with the times! Keeping your customer base and social media following in the know on trending topics is a great way to gain exposure and interest in your profile.
Now you may be asking, how do I find relevant content for my page? Luckily, there are several super easy to use sites that provide trending content! Here’s a list of what we refer to regularly. Utilize these sites for shareable content, blog inspiration, and conversation starters.
Loads of great content is shared on Reddit daily. Make your way into one of Reddit’s countless communities to find what is trending in that particular community, right now. Areas of interest called “subreddits” organize content entries. Then, each subreddit can be filtered by recent, top, hop, or controversial posts. Almost every post has comments and sources to investigate – this not only allows you to dig for more content but also allows you to begin conversations with other users!
Buzzfeed is a global, cross-platform network that uploads shareable news and entertainment content. While some of their posts are on the comical, less serious side, Buzzfeed is dedicated to posting media that is relevant to its user’s lives, and that is easily sharable and globally accessible. This is a great tool to share light-hearted content with your followers and start a conversation!
A longtime favorite for the visually inclined, Pinterest has become the largest social image sharing website! The Pinterest “Explore” section was launched at the end of 2016, where users can sort through trending pins as well as trending topics to explore. Pinterest Explore helps you spot pins that are gaining momentum, so you can share the latest content to your social media audience!
BuzzSumo is one of our favorites! You can search your desired topic and view the Most Shared content and the engagement it has had over various social networks. The BuzzSumo Trending Now tab is also amazing because it filters all the latest news in the previous 24 hours to trending topics. You can filter the search results by articles, infographics, guest posts, giveaways, interviews, or videos. You can also filter by date. The search results will even show specific social media sites to which content was shared.
Feedly organizes the sites you follow into a more easily viewable dashboard. It sifts through all the blogs, news sites, and YouTube channels you follow and spits out the most relevant content. If you also use Feedly, you can look for stories that have a little fire icon next to them. You can also set alerts for when certain keywords are mentioned, search across feeds for terms, and discover related content based on what you already follow. Overall, Feedly is a great tool for sharing trending content because it keeps all of your favorite profile’s posts in one single place!
- Google Trends
Google is the most used search engine – so where do you think most people land when they want to know more about recent news or a trending topic? That’s right, they’ll search on Google! You can easily follow the search history of keywords and compare related keywords all on a convenient set of line graphs. On Google Trends you can also view featured insights on what’s popular now, and narrow it down by topic. Google Trends really is a cool tool to stay on top of what people are searching the Internet for.
This one may seem like a no-brainer – but its crucial if most of your social media following is on Facebook! On your personal Facebook profile (desktop), you can click on the “Home” button at the top of your profile to go to your News Feed. On the right-hand, side you will see a list of “Trending” topics on Facebook. These topics are what people are talking about and the stories that Facebook users are finding most interesting at this time. Click on a topic that pertains to your business, and not only will you see that trending article, but you will be suggested related content! For some business’, Facebook is their one-stop shop to social media sharing.
We love all of these websites because not only do they post great shareable content, they are great resources for inspiration. Because while sharing articles and posts is fantastic for filling up your news feed, it isn’t original content. Use these sites to fuel the voice of your own profile! Writing blogs with more relevant content will keep your readers curious and invested in your profile, and also maintains your authority.
